A Weekend in Dallas

I just got back from the Kevin Jairaj Seminar in Dallas, Texas and it was INCREDIBLE. Kevin is such a talented photographer and an amazing person, and I am honored to be one of his students through a distance learning program known as All Stars.

Our other instructor, the multiple award winning Heather Kallhoff was incredible. It was such a wonderful weekend filled with great learning opportunities and ideas.

Here’s a quick image from the plane ride home…..images from the seminar are coming soon!

My 2005 Brides

I thought it would be fun to post a favorite image from each of my 2005 brides! After only starting my business May 1st, 2005, I have had such wonderful people to work with. God has blessed 2006 already with 18 weddings lined up (and it’s only February)!

Enjoy…

Good Movie

We rented a few movies the other day and I just want to say that if you have not seen Cinderella Man you need to go rent it. All though I believe the movie had excessive profanity, the story behind the life of boxing champion James J. Braddock is nothing less than amazing.

What I find inspiring is that besides his determination to overcome great difficulty and win, his determination to keep his family together was even stronger. The love and faith that was displayed between this incredible couple during the depression was amazing.

It says something about a generation whose stronger beliefs in God, marriage, family & country Tom Brokaw wrote about in his accurately titled book, The Greatest Generation. Sadly, many people today do not share the same beliefs about commitment and if they do, it is more than likely not as strong.

Individuals my age have never known difficulty such as that which was experienced by that generation, and yet sometimes we give up far too easily.

To those who chose to live their lives like James and Mae Braddock - you have my deepest respect.

Michael Joins VPPA & SEPPA

I recently joined the Virginia Professional Photographer’s Association and the Southeastern Professional Photographer’s Association.

The VPPA’s mission is to “promote artistic, technical and business excellence in professional imagemaking while endorsing the highest standards of ethical conduct” and the SEPPA boasts “the largest regional affiliate of the Professional Photographers of America”.

I joined these associations not only to further my knowledge and love of photography, but also to network with other professionals and show my support for such great organizations.
