Two Macs to Go Please

Filed under: Misc — Mike at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 6, 2006

NO, I don’t mean the gross food type - I just ordered a 20″ iMac G5 and a 14″ iBook G4!

I made the decision to switch to Mac because I got so sick and tired of PC’s crashing on me.

Before I made the final decision to switch I had just ordered a Dell Precision and two 20″ widescreens from the business division thinking that maybe PC’s could redeem themselves. They didn’t. Not even two weeks after I ordered it the entire system crashed on startup saying there was “multiple internal system errors”. I thought maybe that I just lucked out and got a bad one, but my friends up near D.C. purchased one almost the same day as I did and theirs has crashed twice!

So I decided that it is time to upgrade and get something worth paying for. Even though Apple computers are still not the majority (I think only something like 5%) of the market, many photographers and artists I know use them and would never touch a PC again…unless they really wanted a virus, or headaches, etc.

Many thanks to my buddy John Lyons from Canada for helping me see the light!

Your Credit Report

Filed under: Misc — Mike at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 1, 2006

I am sure many of you have already heard about this, and probably even used it - but for everyone else I want to remind you of the Annual Credit Report program.

From their website:

“Under the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act) consumers can request and obtain a free credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies. AnnualCreditReport.com provides consumers with the secure means to do so. ”

Unlike many other online sources, it is completely free to use this particular website. They do offer different services that you can choose to pay for, but your actual credit reports are free.

Once you go through their verification pages you can view your report and print it out directly from the computer screen. Be careful though, it will be anywhere from 20-40 pages long!

I just got mine yesterday so I figured I would share with everyone my hassle-free experience!
