Life without limits

Lights Out

After a long afternoon and evening without power (due to the ice storm) we can definitely say that we appreciate electricity way more that what we did yesterday!

We lost power Sunday afternon right around 2:30p.m. and it ended up coming back on about 9:00p.m. last night. At first it was a little annoying, but then it was kinda fun! We all just hung out together, read the kids some stories, watched a movie on our iPod, and pretended that we were camping out. Besides, who can resist dinner by candle light!?

The later it got into the evening the colder it got. So we wrapped up in blankets and talked about how hard it must have been for people two hundred years ago with no modern conveniences. We are so spoiled! We started thinking about all the people across the country who have been without power for days, not just a few hours.

So we prayed for those without power, and prayed for the workers that God would keep them safe out in the cold. We blew out the candles and decided to go to bed early, and then……POWER!

What a blessing it was to have it back on. Today I don’t think we’ll take it for granted as much as we did before.

A momento from the evening…
